Description
An Orthopantomogram (OPG) — also known as a panoramic dental X-ray — is a type of wide-view radiograph that shows the entire upper and lower jaws, teeth, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and surrounding bone structures in a single image.
Indications / Uses:
Assessment of tooth development and eruption (especially in children and orthodontics)
Detection of:
Dental caries, periodontal disease, or periapical infections
Impacted teeth (e.g., wisdom teeth)
Jaw fractures
Cysts, tumors, or bone lesions
Pre-operative planning for implants, dentures, or orthodontic treatment
Quick and non-invasive
