What it is & how it works Zoom whitening is a professional in-office cosmetic dental treatment using a hydrogen-peroxide-based gel plus a special light (LED/UV) to accelerate stain removal from teeth. Typical procedure: dentist cleans/polishes teeth → protects gums & lips → applies whitening gel → uses the light for ~3 rounds of ~15 minutes each (≈ 45 minutes) in many cases. Results can be quite noticeable in one session: some sources say up to about 6-8 shades lighter. People who have extrinsic stains (from coffee, tea, tobacco, etc) rather than very deep intrinsic/structural discoloration. Note: some types of stains (for example greyish ones) respond less well.
