Immediately After Surgrical Procedures like Extraction, Implant Placement & Periodontal Flap Surgery:
• Bite firmly on the gauze pack for 30–45 minutes.
• Do not spit, rinse, or gargle for the first 24 hours.
• Avoid touching the surgical area with your tongue or fingers.
• Take prescribed medicines on time.
Swelling & Pain Control
• Apply ice pack externally for 10–15 minutes at intervals during the first 24 hours.
• Mild swelling is normal for 2–3 days.
• Take pain medication as advised (do not self-medicate).
Diet Instructions
• Eat soft, lukewarm food for 2–3 days.
• Avoid hot, spicy, hard, or crunchy foods.
• Do not chew from the operated side.
• Stay hydrated.
What to Avoid
• No smoking or tobacco (at least 5–7 days).
• No alcohol during medication period.
• Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours.
• Do not use straws (can disturb blood clot).
Oral Hygiene
• Do not brush directly over the surgical area for 24 hours.
• From next day, rinse gently with prescribed mouthwash.
• Maintain overall oral hygiene carefully.
If Bleeding Occurs
• Place fresh gauze and bite firmly for 30 minutes.
• Slight oozing is normal.
• If heavy bleeding continues, contact the clinic immediately.
For Implant & Flap Surgery Patients
• Strictly follow medication schedule.
• Avoid pressure on implant site.
• Attend all follow-up appointments.
• Stitches (if placed) will be removed as advised.
When to Contact Us
Call immediately if you notice:
• Severe uncontrolled pain
• Excessive swelling after 3–4 days
• Continuous bleeding
• Fever or pus discharge
