Correct Way to Floss Your Teeth
How to floss correctly:
1. Take approximately 18 inches of dental floss and wind most of it around your middle fingers.
2. Hold a short section firmly between your thumb and index finger.
3. Gently guide the floss between your teeth. Never force or snap it into your gums.
4. When the floss reaches the gum line, curve it into a “C” shape around one tooth.
5. Move it gently up and down against the tooth, then clean the other side of the space.
6. Use a fresh section of floss as you move from tooth to tooth, including behind your last molars.

Floss once a day, at a time that suits you. Mild bleeding may occur when you first begin, but persistent bleeding, swollen or tender gums, bad breath, loose teeth or pain while flossing may indicate gum problems and should not be ignored.
